Prices of essential kitchen items showed a mixed trend, as some items registered a nominal increase while prices of others remained unchanged last week as compared to the preceding week, revealed a survey conducted by Business Recorder on Saturday.

The survey noted slight increase in vegetables prices during last week against the preceding week, as tomatoes were available at Rs 55 per kg against Rs 40 per kg last week price, onions were being sold at Rs 50 per kg against Rs 45 per kg week past price, potatoes were available at Rs 45 per kg, cabbage at Rs 40 per kg, carrot at Rs 45 per kg, peas were being sold at Rs 70 per kg, radish at Rs 45 per kg and green-chilli at Rs 85 per kg during last week as compared to the preceding week.

Mixed trend was observed in fruit prices during the last week as compared to the preceding week, as apple was available at Rs 160-220 per kg, banana was being sold at Rs 110-145 per dozen against Rs 100-140 per dozen week past price, fruiter was available at Rs 90-100 per dozen against Rs 80-90 per dozen week past price, Kinoo was being sold at Rs 110 per dozen against Rs 90-100 per dozen, Shakiry Malta was available at Rs 145-190 per dozen against Rs 140-180 per dozen and Mausmi was being sold at Rs 130 per dozen during the last week as compared to the preceding week.

Meat prices remained stable last week as compared to the preceding week, as mutton was available at Rs 560 per kg, and beef at Rs 360 per kg whereas chicken was available at Rs 160-165 per kg. The survey noted that eggs price remained unchanged during the last week at Rs 130 per dozen as compared to the proceeding week.

Meanwhile, prices of entire range of pulses remained stable last week as compared to the preceding week as dal mash was available at Rs 140, Moong at Rs 140 per kg, Lobia at Rs 150 per kg, Masoor at Rs 120 per kg, Channa at Rs 110 per kg and white Channa at Rs 120-160 per kg last week as compared to the preceding week. Rice prices also remained stable last week as compared to the preceding week as colonel rice was available at Rs 140 per kg, while broken rice at Rs 90 per kg.
